Overpopulation In India

Overpopulation! In 2015 India's population was around 1.31 Billion. Predictions show in 2022 India will overtake China to become World's most populous country. That's just one year from now. Earlier it was predicted to happen by 2028 but India's population is growing so rapidly, that it will reach that mark in six years advance. And it ain't a matter of pride.
Over population leads to poverty, unemployment, climate change, which pressurises the natural resources like forest and land. It also leads to the increase in social and religious conflicts. So overpopulation is considered as the root cause of most of the problems in infact all parts of the World. The condition of India has been really affected and is visible everywhere like markets and public places. If you want to get an idea of the situation just go to a railway station or any other public places.

In this blog I am going to discuss about some possible solutions which can be used to tackle the problem of overpopulation.
Whenever we are discussing solutions for overpopulation, China's one child policy comes first mostly, in our minds. We think Indian Government too should follow this policy. But most of the people don't know that China's one child policy was a failure. Thirty years later in 2015 they ended this policy. This policy led to a huge gender imbalance which made China a World's worst sex ratio country in 2004 i.e., 122 males is to 100 females. So what can be the effective and realistic solution against overpopulation?
The answer is a little boring which is investment in Education and Healthcare. Kerala, the state with highest literacy rate in India(almost 100%)  has a very low fertility rate. So we should vote those political parties which are serious about public education. Consequently, no state other than Kerala seems to be interested in improving literacy rate. On the othher hand, conditions are really worst in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan. Therefore it is really important for these states to especially focus on Education.

"Once it was necessary that the people should multiply and be fruitful if the race was to survive. But now to preserve the race it is necessary that people hold back the power of propagation".
